Google's video posting medium, YouTube, has updated its privacy policy to ban users from uploading dangerous prank videos and challenges.

The US-based website made public the updated guidelines which is to restrict users from sharing videos which pose apparent deaths risks and prank videos that make victims believe they are in physical danger.

YouTube stated that the platform "...also don’t allow pranks that lead victims to believe they are in physical danger or that can cause real physical harm. Dangerous or abusive pranks that may cause emotional distress to children are not allowed."

Cited examples of challenges that may have prompted this update include: Bird Box challenge in which users attempt going on their daily activities blindfolded (taken from a scene in the movie); Tide Pod challenge in which users attempt to eat detergents.

The site has given creators two months to review and clean up their videos before the ban takes effect.
